Thermal Spraying
Thermal spraying for long-life corrosion and wear protection on steel and metal components.
Metal Protection That Lasts
Thermal spraying melts a coating material, such as zinc or aluminium, and sprays it onto a prepared surface to build a tough metallic layer. It gives steel long-term protection against corrosion and wear, and can be used on its own or sealed and overcoated as part of a full coating system.
It suits structural steel, fabrications and components that face harsh outdoor, marine or industrial conditions. Every job starts with proper blasting and surface preparation and finishes with inspection by our NACE and Icorr Level 3 inspectors.
Why Choose Thermal Spraying
A metallic coating applied without heating the part, so components keep their shape and properties.
- shield Corrosion Protection Zinc and aluminium layers protect steel from corrosion over the long term, even in coastal and offshore conditions.
- construction Wear Resistance Hard-wearing sprayed layers help protect surfaces exposed to abrasion and mechanical wear.
-
layers Duplex Systems Sprayed metal can be sealed and overcoated with paint to give a duplex system with an even longer service life.
From Bare Steel to Signed-Off Finish
Good preparation is what makes a thermal spray coating last. Every job follows the same controlled stages.

STEP 01
Specification
We agree the coating material, thickness and any sealer or topcoat with you before work starts.
-
construction
STEP 02
Blast & Prepare
Parts are grit blasted to a clean, profiled surface so the sprayed metal bonds properly.

STEP 03
Thermal Spray
The coating is sprayed in controlled passes to build up the required thickness.

STEP 04
Seal & Overcoat
Where specified, a sealer and paint system is applied over the sprayed metal.

Inspect & Report
Thickness and adhesion are checked and recorded, with a full report kept in our ISO:9001 records.
Built for Tough Environments
Thermal spraying is a good fit wherever steel needs protection that lasts for years with little maintenance.
