What Is Carbon Dipping?

Carbon dipping is one of our most popular custom and restoration services, transforming ordinary components into stunning carbon fibre-effect pieces. Using our specialist hydro dipping process combined with premium carbon fibre films, we can apply a realistic carbon fibre finish to almost any item - from dashboards and wing mirrors to helmets and gaming controllers.

Compared to genuine carbon fibre components, carbon dipping delivers a highly realistic appearance at a fraction of the cost. Every finish is sealed with a durable automotive-grade clear coat, giving a deep, premium look that holds up to everyday use.

Choose Your Carbon Pattern

We stock multiple carbon fibre weave patterns, from tight textbook twills to larger, more dramatic weaves. Pick the look that suits your project.

  • grid_on 2x2 Twill Weave The classic OEM carbon look. Tight, uniform and instantly recognisable.
  • grid_4x4 Plain Weave A clean, symmetrical chequerboard weave with a traditional finish.
  • view_module Large Weave A dramatic, oversized pattern for statement pieces and show builds.
  • auto_awesome Forged Carbon The marbled, organic look made famous by Lamborghini and McLaren.
  • palette Coloured Carbon Red, blue, silver and more - weave patterns with tinted finishes.
  • hexagon Hex Weave A geometric hexagonal take on the traditional carbon look.
  • blur_on Silver Metallic A brighter, metallic weave for lighter interiors and trims.

From Bare Part to Carbon Finish

Every carbon dipping job follows the same careful five-stage process, whether it is a single wing mirror or a full interior set.

Black Base Coat

A deep black base is sprayed - this sits behind the weave and makes the pattern pop.

Film & Activation

The carbon film is floated on water and activated, leaving the weave ready to transfer.

Carbon Dipping FAQs

The questions we hear most often from new customers.

Very durable. Once sealed with multiple layers of automotive-grade clear coat, a carbon dipped part handles everyday use, washing and UV exposure in the same way a factory painted component would. Just avoid aggressive solvents and abrasive polishes.

No - parts must be removed so we can prep, base coat, dip and clear coat them properly. We are happy to advise on which parts are easy to remove and which are best left to a professional fitter.

Most carbon dipping jobs are turned around in 3-5 working days. Larger sets or projects requiring extensive prep work may take a little longer - we will confirm a timeline when you book in.

Carbon dipping is a water-transfer process, so the weave direction on each part is controlled by how it enters the film. We take great care to keep weaves consistent, but perfectly matched pattern alignment across separate pieces is not guaranteed.

Treat them exactly like painted bodywork - gentle wash, soft microfibre, no abrasive cutting compounds. A quality car shampoo and a sealant or ceramic coating will keep the finish looking sharp for years.
