Welcome to the new Wicked Coatings website. For the past few years we have run two separate sites, one for our commercial and industrial work and one for consumer services like hydro dipping and custom paint. That made sense when the two sides of the business were growing in different directions. It makes less sense now, so we have brought everything together in one place.
Why we rebuilt the site
Wicked Coatings has changed a lot since 2011. We started in a 1,000 square foot workshop in Poole. Today we run a 19,000 square foot facility, work across 15 industry sectors and operate alongside our sister company Global Coatings in Bristol. The old websites did not tell that story well, and finding the right service or the right person to talk to took more clicks than it should.
The new site fixes that. Whether you are a procurement manager looking for DEF STAN coating systems or a motorcyclist who wants a one-off tank finish, you should be able to find what you need in a couple of clicks.
What you will find
- Commercial services. Wet spray painting, powder coating, Cerakote, blasting, substrate preparation, masking and parts identification, paint polishing, thermal spraying and our new Testing and Inspection page, which explains the in-house tests we can carry out to your instructed ISO standards.
- Industry sectors. A page for each of the sectors we serve, from aerospace, nuclear and defence through to marine, medical, film and television and sculptures. The Military and Defence page now lists every DEF STAN paint system we apply.
- Consumer services. Hydro dipping, carbon dipping, custom paint spraying, liquid car wrap and protective coatings, with a pattern library you can browse before you get in touch.
- Quality and accreditation. Our ISO 9001 certificate is available to download from the Quality page, along with details of our ICATS-qualified workforce and our NACE and Icorr Level 3 inspectors.
- Our work. A gallery of recent projects across the sectors, which we will keep adding to.
Inspection, explained plainly
One thing we wanted to get right on the new site is how we describe inspection. Every job that leaves our facility is inspected to at least NACE Level 2. Level 3 inspection and certification is available as a premium service for customers whose specification demands it. We have tried to say that clearly on every page rather than leaving it to be assumed.
Still the same team
The website is new. The people are not. Lyle and Chris founded the business on a combination of painting expertise and quality inspection experience, and that is still how every job is run. You can read more about the team and our story on the About Us page.
